Ryan Lochte has been banned from swimming until next June and will forfeit 100,000 dollars (£75,000) in bonus money that went with his gold medal at the Olympics.

It is part of the penalty for his drunken encounter at a petrol station in Brazil during last month's games.

Him and some other American swimmers were drunk and caused some damage to the petrol station shop/toilets. When it was discovered by guards they were made to pay for the damage but they lied saying they had been robbed at gun point.
